Consider ~ Lamentations 3:33-35 | Matthew 23:37
A common misconception is that everything occurring in the world is a direct result of God’s plan. However, Scripture shows that some events take place contrary to His will. Psalm 81:11-14 illustrates this clearly:
“But My people did not listen to My voice, and Israel did not obey Me. So I gave them over to their stubborn hearts, to walk in their own ways. If only My people would listen to Me, if Israel would follow My ways! I would quickly subdue their enemies and turn My hand against their foes.”
This passage highlights that while God desires obedience, He allows people to follow their own choices—even when those choices lead to suffering. He does not impose His will by force; rather, He offers guidance and leaves the decision to individuals.
The brokenness in the world is often a reflection of human rebellion rather than divine intent. When people reject God’s wisdom, they experience the consequences of living apart from His plan. However, this does not mean that God is absent. Instead, He continuously calls people back to Himself, offering redemption and restoration.
